"God is punishing our marriage because of my past sins—we're cursed."
How it sounds in your head: Before you were married, you slept around, did things you're ashamed of. Maybe this difficult marriage is God's judgment—reaping what you sowed. You see other couples with ease and think, 'They didn't have my past.'
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."
-- Isaiah 43:25Religious lie mixing Old Covenant punishment with New Covenant grace, making God vindictive rather than redemptive.
Your premarital sexual history was messy. Your pastor once said 'sexual sin has unique consequences.' The struggle in your marriage feels like karmic payback.
Rahab was a prostitute—career sexual sin—yet she married Salmon (a Jewish prince), bore Boaz, became GREAT-GRANDMOTHER OF DAVID and is listed in JESUS' genealogy. Her sexual past didn't curse her lineage—it was REDEEMED into the Messianic line.
I REFUSE the lie that my past sins have cursed my marriage. IT IS WRITTEN that God does NOT REMEMBER my sins—they're not in my file affecting my present. Christ REDEEMED me from EVERY CURSE—there is zero curse operating in my life or marriage. IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses from ALL sin—not most, ALL. Rahab the prostitute married into royalty and produced the lineage of Jesus—my sexual past is REDEEMED, not punishing me. I am under the BARAK blessing of Abraham—the blessing that protected JUDAH who slept with his daughter-in-law. I declare: my marriage is BLESSED because of covenant, not cursed because of history. What God has cleansed, I will not call unclean.
The Father isn't making you 'pay' for your past—He's throwing a party because the past is DEAD and you're ALIVE in Christ. He sees your marriage through the lens of the blood, not your history, and breakthrough is manifesting NOW.
