The suffering is real and the timing seems connected to your past. If God were punishing you, this is exactly what it would look like. The correlation between sin and suffering feels obvious.
Disciples saw a man born blind and asked Jesus, 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.' Jesus directly refuted the sin-punishment connection and then HEALED him.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me! IT IS WRITTEN: The chastisement for my peace was upon JESUS! He took EVERY punishment I deserved. There is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—and I am IN CHRIST. Sickness is not from God—it's from the curse, and Christ REDEEMED me from the curse. IT IS WRITTEN: By His stripes I WAS healed! God is not angry with me—He's my FATHER who runs toward me with healing and restoration. I reject the lie of divine punishment. I embrace the TRUTH of divine BLESSING. I walk in the BARAK covenant where blessing flows REGARDLESS of my past. I am HEALED, WHOLE, and BLESSED in Jesus' name!
The Father isn't punishing you—He punished JESUS in your place. Like the prodigal, the Father doesn't bring up your past to beat you with it. He covers you, celebrates you, and RESTORES you. The punishment is FINISHED. You're free.
