"God is punishing me for being greedy. I wanted to get rich quick and He's teaching me a lesson."
How it sounds in your head: You got greedy. You wanted wealth you didn't earn. God saw your heart—you weren't investing wisely, you were chasing wealth. That's idolatry. Now He's letting you feel the pain of greed so you'll learn humility and contentment. Good Christians are content with little. You wanted more, and this is what happens.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Religion. This is pure religious performance teaching that says God withholds or punishes to 'teach you lessons.' It makes God the author of suffering and turns Him into a cosmic behavior-modification expert.
Greed is biblically condemned. Your motives weren't perfectly pure (whose are?). The loss does feel like 'punishment.' Religious teaching has trained you to interpret pain as God's discipline.
He was literally a THIEF—greed personified—being executed for his crimes. Zero time to 'learn lessons' or 'prove change.' Jesus said, 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Not 'after you've suffered enough.' Instant grace, zero punishment, full acceptance.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me or teaching me lessons through loss. IT IS WRITTEN: God gives us RICHLY all things to ENJOY. Every good gift comes from the Father of lights—in Him there is NO shadow of turning. Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life. The thief comes to steal—that's who took my money, not my Father. IT IS WRITTEN: 'There is therefore NOW no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus' (Romans 8:1). The thief on the cross received paradise IMMEDIATELY with zero punishment. Job received DOUBLE restoration. God is not mad at me—He's running toward me with restoration. I receive supernatural DOUBLE-BACK breakthrough NOW.
Your Father isn't teaching you lessons through loss—He's mourning WITH you over what the thief stole. He's not standing back with arms crossed saying, 'Learn humility.' He's running toward you saying, 'Let Me restore this. Let Me show you My goodness.' His discipline is correction, not punishment, and it comes through His Word and His Spirit, not through financial loss.
