"God is frustrated with me for struggling with the same thing repeatedly."
How it sounds in your head: I keep falling into the same pattern. God must be so frustrated watching me fail at the same thing over and over. I can feel His exasperation. Why can't I just get past this already?
"As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
-- Psalm 103:13-14Source: Projection of human frustration onto God, fueled by religious teaching that positions repeated struggle as evidence of God's growing impatience.
She's heard the frustration in voices when she repeats mistakes - parents, teachers saying 'we've been over this.' It feels obvious God would feel the same way watching her struggle with the same issue again.
They complained repeatedly, doubted repeatedly, wanted to go back to Egypt repeatedly. God didn't withhold provision out of frustration - He gave them manna EVERY SINGLE MORNING for 40 years, fresh daily regardless of their repeated complaining.
I REFUSE the lie that God is frustrated with my repeated struggles. IT IS WRITTEN that He has compassion on me as a father has compassion on his children. He KNOWS my frame. He REMEMBERS I am dust. He's not exasperated - He's compassionate. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are new every morning. The Israelites complained repeatedly and still got manna every single day for 40 years. God doesn't withhold because of repeated struggle. He provides because of His nature, not my performance.
While you think God is frustrated, He's looking at you with the compassion of a father who remembers you're dust and loves you anyway. He's not keeping score of repeated struggles - He's keeping supply of repeated mercies.
