"God is distant because of this. He doesn't care about my pain or He would have healed me already."
How it sounds in your head: I've prayed so many times for healing and nothing's changed. I see other people get better and I'm still dealing with this. If God really loved me, wouldn't He fix this? Maybe He's mad at me or maybe He's just not paying attention. It feels like He's far away and doesn't hear me.
"He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Enemy interpretation of delayed healing as divine rejection - projects God's silence when God is actually speaking through finished work.
Time between asking and receiving creates emotional distance that feels like actual divine distance. Unanswered prayers feel like proof of God's absence or displeasure.
Lazarus was sick, his sisters sent for Jesus, and Jesus DELIBERATELY WAITED until Lazarus had been dead FOUR DAYS - so dead he was decomposing. Everyone thought the delay meant Jesus didn't care. Then Jesus spoke ONE WORD - 'Lazarus, come forth!' - and instant resurrection! The delay wasn't absence; it was setup for GREATER glory.
I REFUSE the lie that God is distant! IT IS WRITTEN: He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me - that's a promise with NO expiration date! The Lord is NEAR to the brokenhearted - that's me, and He's HERE! Delayed healing doesn't mean denied healing - it means God's timing is setting up something BIGGER than I asked for! The BARAK blessing means God commands blessing on my storehouse - He's ACTIVELY working even when I can't see it! IT IS WRITTEN: He who began a good work in me will COMPLETE it - He's not distant, He's FAITHFUL!
Your Father isn't standing far away waiting for you to get better so He can come close - He's the Father who RAN TO the prodigal while he was 'still a long way off,' who didn't wait for the son to arrive cleaned up. He's running TOWARD you in your pain, not away from it, because that's who He is.
