"God gives wealth to people who are spiritually mature—I'm not there yet so I stay broke."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe God is waiting for me to be more faithful, pray more, read my Bible more. I'm just a teenager still figuring things out spiritually. When I'm more mature and devoted, then maybe He'll bless me.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious lie making blessing performance-based, directly opposing grace and putting spiritual maturity as prerequisite to covenant inheritance.
You genuinely feel spiritually immature and it seems logical that God would require spiritual growth before material blessing. It sounds wise and biblical even though it's pure law.
The thief on the cross had zero time for spiritual growth, no baptism, no discipleship, no maturity—just dying moments of faith. Jesus instantly promised him paradise that very day—full access to the Kingdom with no maturity prerequisite.
I REFUSE the lie that I need spiritual maturity before God blesses me. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. My blessing isn't based on my maturity but His finished work. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ NOW. The BARAK covered immature, flawed people because it's covenant, not character. The prodigal got everything while still immature. My Father runs toward me at my mess, not waiting for me to mature into worthiness. I receive NOW by grace.
Your Father is throwing a party for you right now at your current maturity level, not waiting for you to grow up spiritually before giving you access to family wealth. He celebrates you now.
