"God gave me this diabetes/heart condition to teach me patience and humility in my later years."
How it sounds in your head: Every doctor appointment feels like a spiritual test. The pills remind me I'm declining. Maybe God's breaking my pride through my breaking body. My strength is gone—perhaps that's the lesson.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion taught sickness as divine curriculum, making God the author of disease rather than the Healer.
Your body IS failing—that's undeniable medical fact. Religion always connected suffering with spiritual growth, so it seems logical God orchestrated this decline for your sanctification.
King Hezekiah received a death sentence—'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.' He prayed, and BEFORE the prophet left the courtyard, God added 15 YEARS to his life instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this disease to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: He desires I prosper and be in HEALTH. My Father didn't send Jesus to heal everyone in the Gospels only to reverse policy in my sixties. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I am Abraham's seed by covenant—the BARAK blessing is MINE regardless of my behavior. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and sickness has NO LEGAL RIGHT in covenant territory. I receive healing as my INHERITANCE, not my achievement.
Your Father isn't using disease as a teaching tool—He SENT His Word and HEALED them (Psalm 107:20). He's running toward you with the same healing power that raised Jesus from death, eager to restore what the enemy stole.
