"God gave me this chronic illness to teach me patience and dependence on Him."
How it sounds in your head: You've been dealing with this for years now. Maybe God is using your fatigue, your pain, your limitations to shape you into someone more humble. Maybe this is how He's keeping you close to Him—through suffering.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion taught that sickness is God's teaching tool, making Him the author of disease rather than the Healer.
You've prayed for healing repeatedly without seeing change, so you've reframed the suffering as purposeful to make it bearable. Church culture glorifies those who 'suffer well' and quotes about thorns and weakness being made perfect.
She suffered bleeding for 12 years, spent all her money on doctors who made her worse, was ceremonially unclean and isolated. The INSTANT she touched Jesus' garment, she was completely healed—no process, no waiting, no 'lesson' to learn first.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this sickness to teach me something. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, finished work. My Father's will is health, just as my soul prospers. I am Abraham's seed, heir according to the promise, and the BARAK blessing includes health and wholeness. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. I receive instant healing as my covenant right. This disease has NO permission to teach me anything—Jesus is my teacher, and sickness is my enemy, not my instructor.
The Father is not holding back healing waiting for you to learn patience—He's running toward you with restoration in His hands. While you still smell like the pig pen of sickness, He's already calling for the robe of health and the ring of authority over disease.
