"God gave me health problems and took my job because I'm being disciplined."
How it sounds in your head: First my body failed, now my income. God's systematically stripping everything. This is Him teaching me something, breaking me, preparing me for death through poverty and pain. Discipline feels like abandonment.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious teaching that God authors sickness and poverty as sanctification tools.
Job loss followed health decline. Timing suggests connection, divine causation. Church taught suffering builds character and God orchestrates hardship for growth.
Disciples asked if the man's blindness was caused by his sin or his parents' sin—assuming God authored it as punishment. Jesus destroyed that theology: 'NEITHER! This happened so the works of God would be displayed.' Then He HEALED him instantly, proving God's response to sickness is HEALING, not authorship.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored my health problems and unemployment as discipline. IT IS WRITTEN that every GOOD gift comes from Father who doesn't VARY—He gives good, not sickness. The blind man's condition wasn't punishment; Jesus HEALED him immediately. My body and finances are under ATTACK, not divine discipline. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I AM healed, Christ redeemed me from the CURSE of sickness and poverty. The Father runs toward me with HEALING and PROVISION, not more affliction.
The Father doesn't see a man needing discipline through suffering—He sees a son under ATTACK requiring RESCUE. He's running toward you with healing in His wings and provision in His hands, furious at what's been stolen, ready to RESTORE double.
