"God expects me to figure out money on my own since I'm almost an adult"
How it sounds in your head: Everyone's saying 'welcome to the real world' like God hands you off at 18. Time to adult, figure it out yourself. Faith was for childhood; now it's budgets and bootstraps.
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."
-- Psalm 37:25Source: World system that treats 18 as a spiritual graduation from God's care into self-sufficiency
Every conversation shifts to 'what's YOUR plan?' and 'YOU need to figure out YOUR future.' Even church people stop talking about God's provision and start talking about college loans and career paths.
David was a teenager watching sheep when God prepared him to kill a giant. He didn't wait until he was 'adult enough'—he testified that God delivered him from lions and bears as a young shepherd and would deliver him from Goliath. God doesn't have an age minimum for breakthrough.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm aging out of God's provision. IT IS WRITTEN that He has NEVER forsaken the righteous, young or old, and He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me. My age doesn't change His covenant—I am Abraham's seed and the BARAK blessing doesn't expire at 18. The same God who provided for David as a teenage shepherd provides for me now. IT IS WRITTEN: my God supplies ALL my need according to His riches in glory, and there's no age limit on 'all.' I am blessed coming in and going out, and the Lord commands blessing on my storehouses whether I'm 17 or 70.
Your Father isn't handing you off to 'the real world' like His job is done—He's running beside you with provision, laughing at the lie that you're on your own now. You're more His child at 18 than you were at 8.
