"God doesn't need my money—He owns everything, so giving when broke makes no sense."
How it sounds in your head: You're being logical. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Why would an infinite God need your last $100? It's more responsible to pay your electric bill. God wouldn't want you sitting in the dark over some religious principle.
"Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine."
-- Proverbs 3:9-10World's logic makes practical sense eclipse spiritual law, treating God's principles as suggestions.
It's objectively true that God doesn't need your money to accomplish His purposes. Choosing between a tithe and keeping the lights on for your kids feels like an obvious decision, and any reasonable person would say take care of your family first.
God commanded ravens—unclean scavenger birds that eat dead things—to bring Elijah bread and meat twice daily during famine. If God can make BIRDS provide filet mignon on schedule, He can handle your electric bill when you honor Him first.
I REFUSE the lie that my giving is about God's need instead of my trust. IT IS WRITTEN to honor the Lord with firstfruits and my barns will be filled with plenty. My Father doesn't need my money—He's inviting me into the supernatural flow of heaven's economy where SEED becomes HARVEST. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field, and the Lord commands blessing on my storehouse. My tithe is not expense—it's HONOR that positions me under the open windows of heaven. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing covers me even when the math doesn't make sense.
Your Father isn't broke and needing your help—He's wealthy and wants you IN on the family business. Like the prodigal's father who killed the fattened calf he'd been SAVING, your Father has been preparing provision specifically for the moment you turn toward Him in trust.
