"God doesn't care about my small financial needs at this age"
How it sounds in your head: I shouldn't bother God with prescription costs or grocery prices. He has bigger problems than an old woman's budget. These are trivial concerns compared to world hunger and wars.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Religious teaching that God only cares about 'spiritual' matters and that asking for provision shows lack of faith or is selfish materialism.
Every prayer meeting focuses on missions and salvation, never mentioning bills or food. She's been taught that mature Christians don't ask for material things, and at her age she should be 'above' such earthly concerns.
God commanded RAVENS—unclean scavenger birds—to bring Elijah bread and meat twice daily during famine. The Creator orchestrated a supernatural food delivery system for ONE man's daily meals, proving no need is too small for His detailed attention.
I REFUSE the lie that my needs are too small for God's attention. IT IS WRITTEN that my heavenly Father feeds the sparrows and I am of MORE VALUE than many sparrows. He numbers the hairs on my head—He's not indifferent to my bills. The BARAK blessing Abraham carried wasn't just for 'big' things—God gave him wealth in SILVER and GOLD and LIVESTOCK, every detail provided. IT IS WRITTEN that He commands the blessing on my storehouses, on everything I set my hand to. My Father didn't tell the prodigal 'you should have thought of this before'—He provided the robe, ring, sandals, and feast IMMEDIATELY. I am His daughter and He delights in providing for me.
Your Father is running toward you with the exact provision you need, down to the penny for prescriptions. He's not rolling His eyes at your 'small' requests—He's the Father who provided tax money in a fish's mouth because Peter needed it, who multiplied oil to pay a widow's debt, who notices when you're down to your last dollar and already has the ravens in flight.
