"God can heal but probably won't heal me—I'm not special like those testimony people"
How it sounds in your head: I see the Instagram miracles and conference testimonies, but that's not for regular people like me. Those people probably prayed harder, had more faith, or lived cleaner. I'm just a college kid who still struggles with porn and skips quiet time. Why would God waste a miracle on me?
"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.'"
-- Acts 10:34Religious performance mentality creating a caste system of 'worthy' versus 'unworthy' for God's grace, directly opposing the gospel
Testimonies often feature pastors, worship leaders, or people who 'did everything right,' creating an unspoken belief that healing is merit-based. Your hidden struggles make you feel disqualified from the 'special' Christians club.
Ten lepers stood at a distance and cried out—they weren't special, they were OUTCASTS. Jesus didn't check their prayer journals or faith levels. He simply said 'Go show yourselves to the priests' and AS THEY WENT, they were CLEANSED—instantly, all ten, no prerequisites.
I REFUSE the lie that healing is for 'special' Christians and not for me. IT IS WRITTEN: God shows NO PARTIALITY—He doesn't have favorites or VIP healing. I am the righteousness of God IN CHRIST, not because I earned it but because HE gave it. Every promise in the Book is YES and AMEN in Jesus, not 'yes for pastors, maybe for you.' IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed—that 'I' includes ME, right now, regardless of my struggle with porn or inconsistent devotions. The BARAK protected Abraham the LIAR, Isaac the DECEIVER, Jacob the MANIPULATOR—not because they were special but because of COVENANT. I'm in the BETTER covenant, sealed with the blood of JESUS.
Your Father doesn't heal you because you're special—He heals you because HE is. The prodigal didn't get the robe because he was impressive; he got it because the Father is generous. You don't earn miracles. You're a son, and sons get everything the Father has.
