"God answered my prayers when I was younger but I've worn out His patience."
How it sounds in your head: God was good to me in my younger years. But I've asked for so much, failed so many times. I've used up my quota. He's tired of me asking.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Enemy suggesting God has limited grace that can be exhausted through repeated requests or failures.
Memory of past blessings contrasts with current silence, suggesting a depleted grace account. Repeated failures over decades feel like they've exhausted God's willingness to help.
Peter DENIED Jesus three times after swearing loyalty, cursed, and ran away. After the resurrection, Jesus didn't lecture him or put him on probation. He restored him with breakfast on the beach and THREE affirmations of love, completely reinstating him to 'Feed My sheep.' FULL restoration, no earning it back.
I REFUSE the lie that I've exhausted God's patience or used up His grace. IT IS WRITTEN that His compassions FAIL NOT and are NEW EVERY MORNING. I haven't worn Him out because His mercies are infinite. IT IS WRITTEN that where sin abounded, grace abounded MUCH MORE. Peter was restored after denying Jesus three times. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham's REPEATED lies. I am covered by the SAME grace today that saved me decades ago—it hasn't diminished, expired, or run out. His faithfulness is GREAT.
The Father doesn't have a grace quota that runs dry after you hit a certain number of requests or failures. He's like the father who killed the FATTENED calf for the repeat-offender son—the calf he'd been SAVING for this exact moment, proving he EXPECTED to celebrate your return, not ration his love.
