"God allowed this sickness to teach me something. I have to accept it as His will."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I needed to slow down. Maybe God is trying to get my attention. The pastor said suffering builds character. Perhaps this is His plan—who am I to resist what He's doing?
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religious teaching that attributes sickness to God's pedagogy rather than enemy's attack.
Church teaching often spiritualizes suffering. Well-meaning people say 'God has a purpose in this.' Accepting it as God's will feels humble and submitted rather than fighting it.
Disciples asked 'Who sinned that he was born blind—this man or his parents?' Jesus said 'NEITHER—but that the works of God should be revealed in him.' Then He HEALED him. God's plan was healing, not suffering.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors sickness to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: the thief comes to steal, kill, destroy—Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE. Sickness is theft, not tuition. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the devil—sickness is OPPRESSION from the enemy, not instruction from the Father. God's will is revealed in Jesus, who HEALED EVERY PERSON who came to Him. The BARAK blessing is health and life, not disease and death. Like the blind man, this situation exists so God's works can be REVEALED—through HEALING.
The Father didn't send sickness to teach you—He sent Jesus to HEAL you. Every healing in the Gospels reveals His will: WHOLENESS, not sickness. He's not the author of your disease; He's the healer of it.
