"Family wealth destroyed us, so poverty is actually safer and more spiritual."
How it sounds in your head: You saw what money did to your family—the fights, the greed, the destruction. Maybe addiction funded by wealth. Maybe a nasty estate battle that tore everyone apart. You've convinced yourself that staying broke is actually godly protection. Poverty feels humble. Wealth feels dangerous.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Enemy twisting traumatic experience into poverty theology—making lack seem spiritual and God's provision seem toxic.
The trauma was real. Money did correlate with family destruction. You watched wealth fuel the worst in people. Staying poor feels like staying safe. If you don't have money, it can't ruin you or your kids.
Called friend of God, father of faith—was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.' His wealth didn't corrupt him or disqualify his relationship with God. God BLESSED him with riches as part of covenant promise.
I REFUSE the lie that poverty is spiritual and wealth is dangerous. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives us richly ALL THINGS to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). Money is not the root of evil—the LOVE of money is. I am not my family's dysfunction. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse (Galatians 3:13) and the blessing of Abraham is mine. The Barak includes abundance, provision, overflow. I will be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I receive wealth as a tool to establish God's covenant, not as a curse to fear. Abundance flows to me NOW.
Your Father isn't keeping you poor to protect you from corruption. He's inviting you to wealth WITH HIS WISDOM—the combination your family never had. He wants to give you richly all things to enjoy because He's a good Father who loves giving good gifts to His children.
