"Everyone else is prettier, smarter, and more liked than me—I'll always be less than them."
How it sounds in your head: Every girl at school seems perfect. Their hair, their clothes, how many friends they have. I look at their posts and feel ugly. I scroll and scroll and just feel worse about myself. Maybe I'm the problem.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:14Enemy + social media culture—using curated images to make you believe everyone else has what you lack, creating perpetual 'not enough' identity.
You see their highlight reels constantly—perfect selfies, friend groups, compliments in comments. Your brain compares their outsides to your insides, and you always lose. The comparison is rigged from the start because you're measuring your reality against their performance.
Leah was unloved, constantly compared to her beautiful sister Rachel, feeling like the unwanted wife. God SAW her pain and opened her womb first, making her the mother of Judah—Jesus's lineage—while Rachel remained barren for years.
I REFUSE the lie that I am less than anyone else because of how I look or what I have. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous in God's sight. I am not competing for value—I was BORN with it, sealed by Jesus's blood. Every girl I compare myself to is also fighting battles I can't see. IT IS WRITTEN that God shows no partiality—He doesn't have favorites based on appearance. I carry the BARAK blessing of Abraham—I am blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail. My worth is FIXED in Christ, not fluctuating with likes or comments.
Father sees you scrolling, feeling small, and He's running toward you with the ROBE of His approval already in His hands. You don't need their validation when you have His obsession—He chose YOU before the foundation of the world, not as backup plan but as BELOVED.
