"Every crisis is a sign—I should be watching the news obsessively to decode the times."
How it sounds in your head: I can't miss the signs. Every earthquake, political shift, and treaty could be THE moment. Real believers are watching, discerning, tracking prophecy—I need to stay glued to news or I'll be caught off guard.
"Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
-- Luke 21:28Source: Enemy distraction disguised as vigilance, turning prophetic awareness into anxious news addiction that steals peace and replaces Kingdom assignment with conspiracy consumption.
Jesus said 'watch,' and missing the signs feels spiritually irresponsible. Prophecy teachers make compelling cases that THIS is the moment. If you're not tracking every headline, you're asleep, and nobody wants to be the foolish virgin who missed it.
Simeon was 'waiting for the Consolation of Israel'—he watched for Messiah's coming. But he wasn't obsessively tracking Roman politics in the temple library; he was LED BY THE SPIRIT, and the Spirit brought him to Jesus at the EXACT right moment without anxious striving.
I REFUSE the lie that watching means anxious news addiction. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Look UP and lift up your heads'—when chaos escalates, my posture is UP toward Jesus, not down into fear-feeds. The enemy wants me distracted by doomscrolling, but I am SIMEON, Spirit-led to the exact right moments without anxiety. IT IS WRITTEN that God keeps me in PERFECT PEACE when my mind is stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). I discern times through INTIMACY, not through headlines. I watch, but I'm watching FROM rest, FROM victory, FROM the secret place—not from panic. My peace is proof I'm connected to the Prince of Peace.
Your Father isn't frantically texting you every news alert hoping you catch the signs—He's the same God who LED SIMEON to Jesus without a news app. He's pulling you close saying 'Stop doomscrolling, daughter—you'll know what you need to know when you need to know it because My SPIRIT leads you, not CNN. Look UP at Me, not down at chaos.'
