"Desiring wealth means I don't trust God to provide."
How it sounds in your head: When I plan, save, or desire financial increase, I feel like I'm betraying trust. True faith should mean I don't care about money, right? Wanting wealth feels like evidence I'm not leaning on God enough.
"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous."
-- Proverbs 13:22Religion made faith and wisdom enemies, teaching you passivity equals trust.
You've been taught 'consider the lilies' and 'take no thought for tomorrow' as if planning or desiring provision proves weak faith. Every financial goal feels like lack of trust in God's ability to surprise you with manna.
Joseph didn't just trust God for daily manna—he PLANNED, stored grain during abundance, prepared for famine, and built such wealth that Egypt became the source of provision for the entire region. Wisdom and faith worked together for MASSIVE increase.
I REFUSE the lie that desiring wealth means I don't trust God! IT IS WRITTEN that a good woman leaves an inheritance to her children's children—that requires PLANNING, WISDOM, and WEALTH. Trusting God doesn't mean passivity; it means partnering with His wisdom for increase! The BARAK blessing flows through faith AND wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN that the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous—ME. I trust God's provision AND pursue increase with holy confidence!
Your Father didn't tell the prodigal to stop planning and just trust—He gave him resources to STEWARD! God isn't offended by your financial goals; He's the One giving you the POWER to get wealth (Deut 8:18). Trust Him AND plan boldly.
