"Church people are nice on Sunday but the meanest girls at school claim to be Christian."
How it sounds in your head: She wears a purity ring and leads the bullying. She posts Bible verses then destroys people's reputations. They go to youth group Wednesday and trash me in the locker room Thursday. How is that different from anyone else?
"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?"
-- Matthew 7:16Source: Trauma from experiencing direct harm from peers who claim Christian identity while acting contrary to Christ.
She experiences daily evidence that Christian labels don't produce Christian behavior, creating justified cynicism about faith's transformative power. The gap between profession and practice is measured in personal wounds.
Served under Elisha the prophet, had access to miracles and anointing, but secretly chased money and lied about it. He claimed to represent the prophet while acting in greed. God struck him with leprosy—proof that proximity to anointing doesn't equal genuine faith. The real faith of Elisha still healed people.
I REFUSE the lie that hypocrite Christians invalidate genuine faith. IT IS WRITTEN that I will know them by their FRUITS—labels lie, but fruit tells the truth. Those girls' behavior reveals THEIR hearts, not Christianity's power. IT IS WRITTEN that if anyone is in Christ, they are a NEW CREATION—old things PASS AWAY. Their unchanged behavior proves they haven't encountered what they claim, but that doesn't touch MY encounter with the Father. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by the BARAK that worked even when people bearing God's name acted wickedly. I judge the TREE by its FRUIT, and I choose to BE the fruit that reveals Jesus is REAL.
The Father sees every mean comment, every hypocritical act, every wound those girls inflicted while wearing His name, and He is NOT pleased. He's running toward you with comfort, promising that REAL family is coming—people whose lives actually MATCH their lips, who will celebrate you and defend you. Don't let counterfeits convince you the real thing doesn't exist.
