"Building anything is pointless when I could die any day now"
How it sounds in your head: Why invest in relationships, pray for vision, or believe for anything when I'm on borrowed time? Every day could be my last. I should just tie up loose ends and wait for the end, not start anything new.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Enemy tactic to make her live in dying mode instead of abundant life, stealing her final season's fruitfulness by obsession with death timing
She's watched friends die, been to countless funerals, and her body reminds her daily that death is near. Starting anything feels absurd when she might not finish it.
At 85 years old, after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, Caleb said, 'Give me THIS mountain!' He didn't ask for a rocking chair—he asked for the HARDEST territory with giants still in it, declared he was as strong as he was at 40, and took the land. Age didn't stop him from BUILDING and CONQUERING.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm just waiting to die! IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT LIFE—not 'barely surviving until heaven' but OVERFLOW today! I am not in dying mode; I am in THRIVING mode because I'm connected to the Vine. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that the righteous 'shall still bear FRUIT in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.' I'm not tying up loose ends—I'm releasing new beginnings! Every day is a gift to SEE His goodness, DECLARE His promises, and RELEASE blessing. Like Caleb at 85 saying 'Give me THIS mountain,' I'm taking NEW territory in my final season!
The Father isn't standing at your deathbed with a stopwatch—He's pouring LIFE into every moment you have left, whispering, 'You think this is the end? I call it ABUNDANT. Fruit doesn't stop at 90; it gets SWEETER.' He's not asking you to plan your funeral; He's asking what mountain you want to take, because as long as you're breathing, you're IN THE BATTLE and positioned for victory.
