"Both my parents are too broken now. Our family will never be happy again."
How it sounds in your head: I see Mom depressed and Dad angry. Everything feels dark and heavy all the time. Even if they're both still alive, it feels like my family died. There's no way back to happy.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Spirit of hopelessness using present pain to predict permanent future.
He's living in the immediate aftermath where everyone IS broken and struggling. The current reality feels like proof of a permanent condition with no possibility of restoration.
Job lost everything—children, health, wealth, respect. His story looked permanently destroyed. But God RESTORED double everything he lost, gave him new children, and his latter days were more blessed than his beginning—total turnaround from complete devastation to overflow of blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that my family is beyond restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that God RESTORES the years the locusts ate—He doesn't just stop damage, He rebuilds what was consumed. My family's story is NOT over. God is writing the comeback. IT IS WRITTEN that He works ALL things together for good. What looks dead to me is resurrection material to God. The BARAK blessing includes restoration—I am blessed coming in and going out, in beginning and in ending and in starting over. I declare joy, peace, and breakthrough happiness over my family's future.
Your Father is standing over your broken family like Jesus stood at Lazarus's tomb—and He's about to shout 'COME FORTH!' over dead things, bringing life where you only see death, joy where you only feel sorrow, and a future so bright you'll forget the pain of this season.
