"Being unwanted at the start means I'll always be second choice."
How it sounds in your head: Even when people say they love you now, you wonder if you're their second choice. You watch other kids who were desperately wanted, planned for, celebrated from conception. You feel like you'll always be playing catch-up, always wondering if you truly belong or if people are just being nice.
"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!"
-- 1 John 3:1Enemy using origin story to create permanent 'less than' identity; lie that early rejection determines lifelong value; orphan spirit that can't receive present love.
She knows her story started differently than 'wanted' kids. She sees baby books filled with ultrasound joy for siblings or friends and wonders if anyone celebrated HER conception that way. The comparison creates a permanent gap in her mind.
Hated by his brothers, stripped, thrown in a pit, sold as a slave—the REJECTED one. Spent years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Yet God made him second-in-command of Egypt in ONE DAY. From prison to palace, from rejected to ruler. The 'unwanted' brother saved the whole family.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm second choice or permanently 'less than.' IT IS WRITTEN that I should BEHOLD what manner of love the Father has for me—I am called a CHILD OF GOD! Not second-rate. Not backup. CHOSEN before the foundation of the world. IT IS WRITTEN in John 15:16, 'You did not choose Me, but I CHOSE you.' Joseph went from the pit to the palace because rejection is NOT my identity—CHOSEN is. The enemy wanted me to believe I'm unwanted, but Heaven threw a party at my conception. I am FIRST LOVE, FIRST CHOICE, BELOVED forever.
The Father doesn't have a ranking system for His kids. You're not competing for scraps of His attention. Before you took your first breath, He was ALL IN on you—fully committed, fully delighted, fully YOURS.
