"Being a burden on others proves I have no purpose left"
How it sounds in your head: I need help with everything now. I'm slowing everyone down. My kids resent taking care of me. I'm just waiting to die because I serve no function anymore.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Source: World - the cultural lie that human value is tied to productivity and independence, making dependence equal worthlessness.
You've spent your life serving, giving, producing. Now you need help with basic tasks and you see the strain in your children's eyes. Society worships independence, making your current state feel like failure.
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar dependent on others for everything, considered worthless by society. Yet when Jesus called him, he became the example of bold faith for all generations, and was healed instantly with one declaration: 'Go your way; your faith has made you well.'
I REFUSE the lie that dependence equals worthlessness. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in weakness - meaning my current state is the exact condition where His power shines brightest. Blind Bartimaeus was dependent on others yet became the model of bold faith. IT IS WRITTEN in John 9:3 that the blind man's condition existed 'that the works of God should be revealed in him' - my limitations are the canvas for His glory. I am Abraham's seed, covered by the BARAK blessing that never depended on my productivity. The Father celebrates my existence, not my output.
The Father doesn't measure your worth by what you produce - He delights in you because you're His daughter. He's not waiting for you to be useful again; He's throwing the feast right now, robe and ring already prepared, because your presence is the gift, not your performance.
