"At your age you should focus on managing what you have, not believing for more."
How it sounds in your head: Contentment is godly at your age. Stop being greedy and wanting more. You should be grateful for what you have and manage it wisely, not always asking for increase like an immature person. Grow up and accept your season.
"Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous."
-- Genesis 26:12-13Religious poverty spirit calling limitation 'contentment' and blocking expectation of Father's continued generous provision regardless of age.
You've heard contentment preached for decades and don't want to seem greedy. At your age, asking for more feels spiritually immature compared to younger you who needed provision for raising children.
Isaac in the land during famine sowed and reaped hundredfold increase in the same year. He didn't just manage - he CONTINUED prospering until he became so wealthy the Philistines envied him and the king asked him to leave because he was too prosperous.
I REFUSE the lie that at my age I should just manage what I have instead of expecting more. IT IS WRITTEN that Isaac CONTINUED PROSPERING until VERY prosperous - kept increasing, no retirement clause. My Father delights in my prosperity at every age. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that the righteous bear fruit in OLD AGE, still fresh and flourishing. The BARAK blessing that made Isaac too wealthy for the region flows to me through better covenant. I receive continued increase, ongoing blessing, and greater prosperity in my latter years. Contentment isn't settling for less - it's resting in Father's nature while expecting MORE. My age qualifies me for greater blessing, not management mode.
Your Father isn't asking you to downsize expectations at retirement age - He's running toward you with the same continued-prospering blessing that made Isaac wealthier in later years, wanting your latter years greater than your former while religion lectures about contentment and management.
