"At my age, it's too late for God to answer prayers that matter."
How it sounds in your head: I've prayed about my kids, my health, my legacy for decades. Now I'm in my seventies. It's too late for marriage restoration, financial turnaround, or ministry impact. God's window for me has closed. I should just accept reality.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy: Age weaponization suggesting God's power has expiration dates or that time limits God's ability.
Your body reminds you daily of limitations. Friends are dying. Opportunities seem closed. The culture worships youth, making you feel like God's 'A-team' doesn't include the elderly.
Caleb at 85 years old said, 'I am as strong this day as on the day Moses sent me'—then demanded the MOUNTAIN inhabited by GIANTS as his inheritance. God gave him VICTORY, LAND, and LEGACY at an age when most consider themselves sidelined.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies me from God's breakthrough, restoration, or purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten—He doesn't just manage decline; He REVERSES it. Abraham was 100 when promise manifested. Moses was 80 when his REAL work began. Caleb took mountains at 85. My age is not a DISQUALIFICATION; it's a SETUP for a testimony that screams 'ONLY GOD.' IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14, 'They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.' Not 'they'll decline gracefully.' BEAR FRUIT. FRESH. FLOURISHING. The BARAK blessing doesn't have an age cap—it pursued my fathers into old age because it's based on COVENANT, not capacity. My best days are not behind me—they're being prepared NOW. My Father doesn't retire His children; He FINISHES what He started.
Your Father doesn't see you as winding down. Like wine saved for LAST at the wedding in Cana, He's saving the BEST for now. The Prodigal's father didn't say, 'You're too old to start over'—he said, 'Let's PARTY.' Restoration isn't age-dependent; it's COVENANT-dependent.
