"At my age I should focus on heaven, not earthly wealth"
How it sounds in your head: I'm closer to eternity than to birth. Caring about money now seems shallow—shouldn't I be thinking about spiritual things? Young people need provision for raising families; I'm just finishing up. Wanting financial increase at 72 feels like I'm focused on the wrong kingdom.
"They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:14Religion created false separation between earthly blessing and heavenly focus, making God's provision age-restricted.
Every funeral sermon emphasized 'storing treasures in heaven,' making earthly provision seem trivial at your stage. Culture says old age is for simplifying, downsizing, needing less—wanting MORE feels backwards and worldly.
At 85 years old, Caleb said 'Give me this MOUNTAIN'—not a rocking chair, not retirement, not downsizing. God gave him the mountain with giants on it, and Caleb took the BEST land because blessing doesn't have an age limit.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies me from earthly blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I will bear fruit in old age—FRESH and FLOURISHING, not withering into lack. Caleb took his mountain at 85, Moses led wealth transfer at 80, Sarah bore promise at 90. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire at retirement. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed in my storehouses, my latter days greater than my former. Heaven-focus doesn't mean earth-poverty. I can store treasures in heaven AND flourish on earth, because God isn't stingy with His kids at any age. I am the Father's beloved daughter NOW, and He runs toward me with abundance TODAY.
The Father doesn't put you on a downsizing plan in your 70s—He's running with the fattened calf, the robe, the ring. Age doesn't change His generosity; the prodigal was welcomed at ANY age because the Father's heart is ALWAYS abundance.
