"Abundance will make me shallow and ruin my character—struggle is what makes people strong."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard it a million times: comfort makes you weak, struggle builds character. If you have too much, you'll become a spoiled, shallow person who doesn't understand real life. Hardship is necessary for depth. Ease equals empty.
"And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
-- Deuteronomy 8:18Religious glorification of suffering as sanctification, twisting poverty into virtue and abundance into spiritual danger.
Every inspiring biography is about someone who overcame poverty or hardship—comfort never makes the highlight reel. The richest people in movies are shallow villains. It FEELS like ease erodes character.
He was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold'—massive wealth—and still called the 'friend of God' and 'father of faith.' His abundance didn't corrupt him; it positioned him to bless nations and demonstrate God's faithfulness.
I REFUSE the lie that abundance will ruin me! IT IS WRITTEN that GOD GIVES power to get wealth to ESTABLISH His covenant—blessing is His METHOD of demonstrating faithfulness! Character comes from abiding in Christ, not from poverty. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives us richly all things to ENJOY! Abraham was VERY RICH and called God's FRIEND—his wealth didn't corrupt him, it positioned him! The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, and it ESTABLISHES me to demonstrate God's goodness. I receive abundance as TOOL, not TEMPTATION, knowing the Vine produces good fruit IN me regardless of my bank account!
The Father doesn't withhold the best robe because He's worried you'll get a big head—He runs toward you with it because He knows your identity is SECURE in Him. Abundance in your hands is dangerous only to the enemy's lies; it's the Father's delight to give you the kingdom and watch you steward it in His nature.
