"You're too late to learn music or art. Everyone else started when they were six. You're talentless."
How it sounds in your head: I hear kids playing instruments who've been training since first grade and I can't even read music. I see kids drawing things I couldn't imagine and they've been taking lessons forever. Creative stuff requires years of foundation and I don't have it. I'm too old to start from zero. I'll always be the kid with no talents.
"And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship."
-- Exodus 31:3-5Enemy using comparison and late start to kill creative calling and expression.
He sees peers with years of practice performing at levels that seem unreachable. The arts feel like an exclusive club that requires childhood entry, and he believes raw talent is something you either have or don't.
Bezalel was a slave in Egypt with zero formal training in metalwork or design. God filled him with His Spirit and he INSTANTLY became a master craftsman able to work in gold, silver, bronze, jewels, wood—and to TEACH others. From slave to master artist in one moment of divine filling.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too late to develop creative talents. IT IS WRITTEN that God fills people with His Spirit for ALL MANNER OF WORKMANSHIP. Creativity is not earned through childhood lessons—it's DOWNLOADED from the Creator Himself. God made Bezalel a master craftsman from scratch. IT IS WRITTEN I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, including create. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK makes me the head and not the tail in whatever my hands touch. The same Spirit that hovered over the void creating beauty out of nothing lives in me. My creative awakening is not behind me—it's NOW.
The Father didn't give you those creative desires to taunt you. He put them there because He wants to FILL you with His Spirit and watch you create things that astonish people. He makes master artists out of slaves. You're not too late—you're right on time.
