"You're about to face God for all your failures. Fear is appropriate."
How it sounds in your head: Death is close. Then judgment. You know what you've done. What you've thought. Who you've hurt. How you failed. You're about to stand before Holy God and give account. The fear keeps you awake.
"Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
-- Hebrews 10:17Old Covenant judgment mentality denying the completed work of the Cross and Christ's substitution.
Every sin you remember. Every failure. The Bible talks about judgment day. You're about to find out if you did enough, believed enough, repented enough.
The thief had HOURS to live, a lifetime of crime behind him, no time to make restitution or prove himself. One prayer of belief, and Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' No purgatory. No probation. Immediate Paradise based on JESUS, not performance.
I REFUSE the lie that I will face God in fear. IT IS WRITTEN that He remembers my sins NO MORE - not because I earned it but because Jesus paid it. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief went straight to Paradise with no time to prove anything. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, not by my works but by HIS work. Romans 8:1 - there is NO condemnation for me. When I see Him, I see the Lamb who was slain FOR me, not the Judge counting against me. I am IN CHRIST, hidden, secure, loved. The BARAK blessing brings me into the city blessed, not cursed.
The Father who gave Paradise to a criminal thief is running toward you with the ROBE, not a courtroom summons. You're not going to judgment - you're going to a family reunion with the One who already took your judgment on Himself.
