"Your driven personality makes you an inadequate nurturer and mother."
How it sounds in your head: You have goals, ambitions, business ideas - but good mothers are selfless and child-focused. Your drive feels incompatible with nurturing. Maybe if you were more naturally maternal and less achievement-oriented, you'd be the mom your kids deserve.
"She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard."
-- Proverbs 31:16Religious false binary that women must choose between ambition and nurturing, never both.
Stay-at-home moms seem more devoted while you're building something alongside motherhood. Your ambition feels selfish compared to women who seem content with only domestic life. Culture says driven women are career-focused, not family-focused.
She ran multiple businesses (real estate, textiles, vineyard), managed employees, invested profits, AND 'her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her.' God's ideal woman is both driven entrepreneur and praised mother - no conflict.
I REFUSE the lie that my driven personality makes me an inadequate mother. IT IS WRITTEN that the virtuous woman considers fields and buys them from her profits while raising blessed children - ambition and nurturing coexist beautifully in God's design. I am not too driven; I am kingdom-ambitious. My goals model authority and vision for my children. IT IS WRITTEN that her children rise up and call her blessed - drive didn't damage them. I receive the BARAK blessing over my ambition - blessed in my business pursuits, blessed in my mothering, blessed in doing both excellently. I am the head and not the tail in my multifaceted calling.
Your Father is RUNNING toward you with blueprints for your business in one hand and blessing over your children in the other, celebrating the daughter who inherited His creative entrepreneurship AND His nurturing heart. He's throwing a party because you're finally rejecting the false choice religion demanded.
