"Younger people are more anointed and Spirit-filled than my generation."
How it sounds in your head: You see the 25-year-old worship leader with hands raised, the youth pastor's viral posts, the young mom's Bible study taking off. Meanwhile you feel dry, distracted by bills and teenagers' attitudes. Maybe the fresh move of God is for them, not you.
"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things."
-- 1 John 2:20Religious lie that anointing correlates with age or enthusiasm instead of covenant position in Christ.
Younger believers seem to have more energy for church events and their Instagram faith looks more vibrant than your exhausted prayers between carpool runs. Conferences platform the young voices while you're managing aging parents and wondering if you matter.
Anna was 84 years old, widowed for decades, when she prophesied over baby Jesus in the temple. She didn't miss the Messiah because of her age—she RECOGNIZED Him because of her years of faithfulness, and her prophecy went throughout Jerusalem instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that younger people carry more of God's presence than I do. IT IS WRITTEN that I have an anointing from the Holy One—not 'will have' or 'used to have,' but HAVE. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me NOW with full potency. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that I will STILL bear fruit, that I shall be FRESH and FLOURISHING. Like Anna at 84 prophesying over the Messiah, my years aren't weight—they're WEAPONS. I am a BARAK-blessed daughter with covenant anointing that doesn't fade with birthdays. The enemy feared my prayers at 25; he's TERRIFIED of them now.
The Father sees the young believers' energy and smiles, then He looks at you with the battles you've survived and says 'NOW we're ready for the assignment that requires THIS warrior.' He's been TRAINING you, not retiring you.
