"You need to pay all your bills first before you tithe or give."
How it sounds in your head: Be responsible. Handle your obligations—rent, debt, necessities—then if there's anything left, you can give. God understands priorities. Don't be irresponsible with what you owe others.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
-- Matthew 6:33Religion: Teaching practical responsibility as higher than covenant obedience, making God last instead of first, and calling it wisdom.
It feels morally wrong to give money to church when you owe people or can't pay bills. Responsibility means handling obligations first. God wouldn't want you in debt just to give to Him.
God told Elijah to hide by a brook during famine with no natural provision. Ravens brought him bread and meat every morning and evening—supernatural provision because he obeyed God FIRST, not after he figured out the logistics.
I REFUSE the lie that bills come before God. IT IS WRITTEN to seek FIRST the Kingdom, and everything else will be added. Firstfruits means before expenses, not leftovers. When I honor God first, He multiplies what remains—the widow's flour, the boy's lunch, Elijah's ravens. IT IS WRITTEN that God commands blessing on my storehouse when I bring the tithe. The BARAK blessing isn't dependent on my budget balancing—it's based on covenant. Abraham's blessing covered him when he made mistakes, and it covers me. I put God first, and He handles everything else. I'm not irresponsible; I'm Kingdom-minded, and my Father takes care of His kids who prioritize Him.
Your Father doesn't want your leftovers—He wants first place, because THAT'S where He releases multiplication. When you give Him the first, He doesn't leave you short on the rest; He supernaturally stretches what remains until your bills are covered and there's surplus. He's not competing with your obligations—He's offering to handle them if you'll trust Him with the first slice.
