THE LIE Occult Past

"You need to identify and renounce every specific demon by name from your occult involvement."

How it sounds in your head: You need to make a list. Every séance, every tarot reading, every ritual—write it down. You need to renounce each spirit BY NAME. Spirit of divination. Familiar spirit. Python spirit. Jezebel. You need to remember EVERYTHING and renounce EVERYTHING or you're not fully free. If you miss one, it stays.

IT IS WRITTEN Colossians 2:13-15

"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."

Enemy whispers: 'You need to renounce every demon by name or they still have rights.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Colossians 2:13-15—Jesus forgave you ALL trespasses, wiped out EVERY requirement, and DISARMED all principalities and powers. He didn't give you a checklist; He gave you a CROSS. You don't need to remember every demon's name—Jesus DEFEATED them ALL by name when He triumphed over them. Your freedom isn't based on your MEMORY; it's based on His VICTORY.

WHERE THIS LIE COMES FROM

Deliverance teaching that turns freedom into a works-based checklist and makes demons more powerful than the blood of Jesus.

Why this feels true:

The deliverance minister gave him a list of demons to renounce. He's been trying to remember every occult involvement, every spirit guide name, every ritual. It feels thorough and spiritual, but it's EXHAUSTING. And the enemy keeps whispering, 'You forgot one. You missed something. You're not fully free yet.'

THE BIBLICAL PRECEDENT Mark 5:1-20

Legion Demoniac

The demoniac had LEGION—thousands of demons, living in tombs, breaking chains, cutting himself—the most extreme demonic possession in Scripture. Jesus didn't make him name each demon individually or remember how each one entered. Jesus spoke ONCE, the demons fled, and the man was found 'sitting, clothed, and in his right mind' IMMEDIATELY—complete deliverance without a checklist.

I REFUSE the lie that I need to name every demon to be free. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus DISARMED all principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them at the cross. He defeated them ALL—not just the ones I remember, but ALL. My freedom is not based on my MEMORY; it's based on His VICTORY. The blood of Jesus didn't just cover the sins I can recall—it covered ALL my trespasses, known and UNKNOWN. IT IS WRITTEN that I am forgiven ALL and delivered from ALL—not through my renunciation checklist but through His FINISHED WORK.
