"Why bother taking care of my body or health if the world is ending soon?"
How it sounds in your head: If Jesus is coming back soon, why does it matter if I eat junk food, skip exercise, or ignore my health? It all seems pointless when everything's about to end anyway. Taking care of myself feels like I'm not really believing the end is near.
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
-- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20Enemy twisting eschatology into excuse for neglecting the temple God gave you - religion divorcing spirituality from stewardship.
He hears 'Jesus is coming' used as justification for all kinds of negligence. If eternity is soon, present stewardship feels unimportant, making laziness seem like faith.
Daniel was in Babylon knowing Israel's judgment had come and exile was reality, yet he still refused the king's junk food and chose vegetables and water instead. After 10 days, he and his friends looked healthier than everyone - stewarding his body even in crisis brought instant visible results.
I REFUSE the lie that my body doesn't matter because the world is ending. IT IS WRITTEN that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I glorify God in it. I am not my own; I was bought with a price - the blood of Jesus. I steward this temple with excellence, eating well, moving well, resting well. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The BARAK blessing covers my health, my strength, my energy. I honor God's house because God lives here. Whether I have 5 years or 50, TODAY I treat my body like the holy ground it is. I am strong, healthy, and vibrant for Kingdom purpose.
Your Father isn't shrugging at your health - He's watching you like Daniel choosing vegetables in Babylon, knowing that honoring His temple brings instant, visible results. He's RUNNING toward you with strength, not sickness.
