"We can't come back from this betrayal. Trust is gone forever."
How it sounds in your head: He looked you in the eyes and lied. Or maybe you did. The Instagram messages, the emotional affair, the actual affair. Trust is like a shattered mirror—you can glue it back together but you'll always see the cracks. Everyone says once trust is broken, it's over.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy lie that human failure is stronger than divine grace, that sin creates permanent separation.
The betrayal replays in your mind constantly. You can't imagine ever feeling safe again. The pain is too fresh, too raw, too real. Your therapist even said rebuilding trust takes years, if it's even possible.
Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES, betrayed Him publicly, looked Him in the face and lied. After the resurrection, Jesus didn't make Peter grovel or prove himself—He asked 'Do you love Me?' three times, restoring him completely, and then gave him the keys to build the entire Church. Instant restoration of trust and position.
I REFUSE the lie that trust cannot be restored. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locust has eaten—and betrayal is just a locust with no authority over my covenant. What the enemy meant to destroy, God is using to build something stronger. IT IS WRITTEN that He makes all things new, not all things patched-up and fragile, but NEW. I stand in the BARAK blessing where Abraham lied twice and God still defended him and made him richer. If God could restore Abraham's credibility after lying, He can restore trust in my marriage. The Father is not counting sins—He's pouring out grace. Restoration is happening NOW.
The Father isn't asking your spouse to earn their way back into trust—He's already extending the ring of authority and the robe of belonging while they still smell like the pig pen. He's throwing a party for restoration before the process even starts, because He's that confident in His own power to heal.
