"Wanting financial abundance means I don't trust God or value spiritual things."
How it sounds in your head: Every time I dream about financial freedom, I hear 'you can't serve God and money.' Maybe wanting to be debt-free or wealthy means I'm worldly. Shouldn't I just be content and stop being so material?
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: Religion twisted Jesus's warning about serving money into a condemnation of HAVING money, making her believe that wanting provision equals spiritual poverty.
She's heard countless sermons implying that caring about finances is carnal while 'true believers' only care about souls. Every financial desire gets labeled as materialism or lack of faith.
After Job's suffering, God didn't just restore his health and family—He gave him DOUBLE what he had before: 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 oxen, 1,000 donkeys. God cares about MATERIAL blessing, and it came INSTANTLY when the warfare ended.
I REFUSE the lie that wanting financial abundance is worldly or proves I don't trust God. IT IS WRITTEN that God's will is for me to PROSPER in ALL things—not just spiritual things but FINANCIAL things. Money is not my master—it's my TOOL, given by a Father who cares about every area of my life. I am blessed in the city and in the field, in my storehouses and my finances, because the BARAK covers ALL of me. IT IS WRITTEN that I will lend to many and borrow from none. I desire financial freedom as an act of FAITH, not worldliness, because my Father delights in the prosperity of His servants.
The Father doesn't see your desire for financial freedom as materialism—He GAVE you that desire. He's not a stingy God rationing pennies while you 'prove' you can handle more. He's running toward you with the ring of AUTHORITY and wants to fund EVERY dream He placed in your heart.
