"They have what I prayed for but God gave it to them instead"
How it sounds in your head: You've been asking God for years for a breakthrough—financial margin, a business opportunity, the right door. Then you watch someone else walk through what looks exactly like your prayer answered... for them. The betrayal stings: did God give away what was meant for you?
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
-- Ephesians 3:20Scarcity mentality from the world teaching that blessing is limited supply and someone else's gain is your loss, denying the abundance of an infinite God.
The specificity is painful—it looks EXACTLY like what you prayed for, in their hands instead of yours. If God can do it for them, why not you? It feels like He heard your request and filled it... for someone else. That's not delay—that's denial.
Elisha asked for a DOUBLE portion of Elijah's anointing—not the same, not a participation trophy, but DOUBLE what his mentor had. God didn't say 'that's greedy' or 'there's only so much to go around.' Elisha got exactly what he asked for and performed twice as many recorded miracles as Elijah—instant doubling, no competition, just abundance.
I REFUSE the lie that God has limited supply or gave away my blessing. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think'—my Father doesn't run out, ration, or redistribute. What He did for them wasn't INSTEAD of me—it was a PREVIEW for me. IT IS WRITTEN: 'No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly,' and I am the righteousness of God in Christ. My Father isn't playing favorites or dividing scraps—He's preparing DOUBLE PORTION increase that makes their blessing look like the opening act.
Your Father wasn't choosing between you and them—He was showing you a preview of His nature to bless. While you're grieving what 'went to them,' He's preparing something for you so abundant that you'll realize their blessing was never your competition—it was your confirmation that He LOVES to say yes.
