"The walls I've built are protecting me from more pain."
How it sounds in your head: You've learned your lesson. Keep everyone at arm's length. Surface friendships, polite distance. It's safer this way. The walls aren't prison—they're WISDOM.
"The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall; he is looking through the windows, gazing through the lattice."
-- Song of Solomon 2:8-9Enemy: The demonic inversion that calls PRISON 'protection' and ISOLATION 'wisdom,' stealing end-of-life intimacy.
The walls genuinely DO prevent fresh wounds. What they also prevent—joy, connection, love—is invisible behind the wall.
Peter built massive walls after denying Jesus three times—shame, failure, self-protection. Jesus didn't honor the walls. He walked RIGHT THROUGH them on the beach: 'Do you love Me?' Three times. INSTANT restoration. Peter's walls crumbled.
I REFUSE the lie that walls equal protection. IT IS WRITTEN that my Beloved stands BEHIND my wall, trying to reach me—not hurt me. These walls don't protect; they ISOLATE. Jesus walked through Peter's shame-walls with INSTANT restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that perfect love casts out fear—and His love is PERFECT. I am tearing down every wall of self-protection. The BARAK blessing means I'm PROTECTED even when I'm OPEN. I choose connection over comfort.
The Father is standing on the other side of every wall you've built, not to condemn the wall but to DEMOLISH it with love. He's calling you OUT of isolation into final-chapter intimacy that will astound you.
