"The reproductive struggles we faced were punishment for premarital sex."
How it sounds in your head: We had sex before marriage. Then we struggled for years to conceive. The church said fornication has consequences, and I've always wondered—was this the price? Did God make us wait, make us hurt, because we didn't wait for the wedding night?
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religious lie that God punishes sexual sin with infertility, making conception a reward for purity and barrenness a penalty for past mistakes.
Preachers said 'your sin will find you out' and 'you reap what you sow.' The timeline seemed to fit—premarital sex, then years of infertility. Guilt is a cruel teacher, and I've believed this for decades.
Rahab was a prostitute—sexual sin was her profession. She believed God, was saved, and became the great-great-grandmother of King David and part of the Messianic line. Her past did not disqualify her seed.
I REFUSE the lie that our reproductive struggles were punishment for premarital sex. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus wiped out the handwriting of requirements and nailed them to the cross. My past sin is FORGIVEN and CLEANSED. IT IS WRITTEN that Rahab the prostitute is in the Messianic line—sexual sin does not disqualify my seed. The blood of Jesus has redeemed me from EVERY curse, including barrenness. I stand in the BARAK blessing, not under Old Covenant punishment. My body is blessed, my seed is blessed, and my past is ERASED. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my womb/loins are OPEN.
The Father does not punish you with infertility for past sexual sin. The blood has cleansed you completely, and He sees you as righteous, not guilty. He runs toward you with the robe of righteousness, not a record of wrongs.
