"The pastors' kids get away with everything while I get judged for nothing."
How it sounds in your head: The pastor's son does the same stuff I do but everyone makes excuses for him. I mess up once and I'm labeled. There's an insider club and I'm not in it. The rules don't apply equally.
"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.'"
-- Acts 10:34Source: observing real favoritism and unequal standards in church systems, creating a sense of injustice and outsider status.
He's witnessed actual preferential treatment where leaders' kids face fewer consequences while he gets called out publicly. The double standard is observable and breeds resentment and feelings of being unfairly judged.
Mephibosheth was crippled, forgotten, living in exile as an outsider with zero connections to power. King David sought him out, restored him to the king's table instantly, and gave him all of Saul's land—not because of who Mephibosheth was, but because of covenant. From forgotten outsider to insider at the king's table in one day.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a second-class citizen in God's kingdom because humans play favorites. IT IS WRITTEN that God is no respecter of persons—I have the same access to Him as anyone. The BARAK blessing isn't for spiritual elites; it's covenant inheritance for all of Abraham's seed. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no partiality with God. Human favoritism can't block heavenly favor. I am an insider in His kingdom, seated at His table, and fully accepted regardless of my earthly connections.
While you're feeling like an outsider watching the insiders get preferential treatment, the Father is running toward you saying, 'You're not second-tier to Me—you have the same blood-bought access as anyone.' He's not excusing their favoritism, but He's inviting you to experience His radical equality where you're celebrated as much as any pastor's kid, because you're HIS kid.
