"The pastor who abused his position proves all church leadership is corrupt and self-serving."
How it sounds in your head: You trusted him with your pain, your money, your family's secrets. He used it for control. If a man of God can be that evil, the whole system is rotten. You were a fool to believe.
"Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever."
-- 1 Samuel 2:35Enemy uses one corrupt leader to paint all spiritual authority as fraudulent, isolating believers from genuine community and accountability.
She watched him manipulate from the pulpit, saw financial mismanagement, maybe experienced spiritual abuse firsthand. The wounds are REAL. At her age, she's seen multiple church scandals repeat the pattern.
David served under a leader who became demonized, jealous, and repeatedly tried to murder him with a spear. David had opportunity to kill Saul in a cave but REFUSED to touch God's anointed, trusting God to handle the corrupt leader—and God did, elevating David without David becoming bitter.
I REFUSE the lie that all leadership is corrupt because one leader betrayed trust. IT IS WRITTEN that God raises up faithful priests who do what's in His heart. That pastor's sin is HIS responsibility before God, not mine to carry. I will not let one wolf make me reject all shepherds. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, protected by the BARAK covenant blessing. God is my defender. He sees the abuse, He will judge wickedness, and He is leading me to genuine community. I am NOT disqualified from church because church hurt me.
The Father is MORE angry at that abuse than you are—He calls those who harm His sheep 'wolves' and promises judgment. But He's running toward you with the names of TRUE shepherds, safe people, genuine community. He's not asking you to trust blindly again—He's offering to heal you and lead you to real family.
