"The damage from their choices is permanent and will mark them forever."
How it sounds in your head: The arrest record. The addiction consequences. The STDs. The broken relationships. Even if they come back to God, they'll carry these scars and limitations the rest of their life. Restoration can't undo what's already done. The consequences are permanent, and that's just reality.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25World's system that says past defines future and consequences are permanent, denying the regenerative power of the cross.
You can see the tangible damage: health issues, legal records, burned bridges, lost opportunities. The practical consequences seem immovable regardless of spiritual redemption. The world's system says 'you can't undo the past,' and the evidence seems to support it.
Rahab was a prostitute in a condemned city, yet when she turned to God she was not only saved but married into Israel, became Boaz's mother, and is listed in Jesus's genealogy. Her past profession didn't disqualify her from the Messianic line—God made her part of the story of redemption itself.
I REFUSE the lie that my child's past defines their future. IT IS WRITTEN: 'I will RESTORE to you the years that the locust has eaten.' Every consequence, every scar, every burned bridge is raw material for God's redemptive power. What the enemy meant for destruction, God will use for testimony. IT IS WRITTEN: 'If anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new' (2 Corinthians 5:17). Not reformed—NEW. The BARAK blessing doesn't just forgive the past; it catapults them into a future MORE abundant than if they'd never walked away. God specializes in instant restoration—from pig pen to party, from prostitute to patriarch's line, from betrayer to apostle.
The Father doesn't see your child through the lens of their damage. He sees them through the lens of their destiny, and He's already been working their mess into their message, their test into their testimony, their breakdown into their breakthrough.
