"The church cares more about protecting its reputation than protecting the wounded."
How it sounds in your head: You reported abuse and they silenced you to avoid scandal. You exposed sin and they attacked you for not being 'gracious.' They sacrificed the sheep to save the system, and you're collateral damage they're willing to accept.
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."
-- Matthew 23:23Source: Institutional self-preservation and the enemy's lie that God's house is just as corrupt as the world's systems.
You watched leaders cover up, spin stories, gaslight victims, and prioritize image over integrity. The evidence is overwhelming that systems protect themselves, not the vulnerable.
Raped by her half-brother Amnon, then told by her brother Absalom to 'be quiet' to protect the family reputation, abandoned by her father David who 'was very angry' but did NOTHING—silenced and desolate. God recorded her story in Scripture and brought the kingdom's collapse through Absalom's rage at the cover-up—Heaven doesn't forget what systems hide.
I REFUSE the lie that God endorses systems that sacrifice the wounded for reputation. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus confronted religious hypocrisy that valued image over justice, and He calls it what it is: SIN. That system that silenced me does not represent my Father's heart. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for me in Christ—not from Heaven, no matter what earth's institutions declared. God sees, God records, and God will vindicate. I will not internalize the shame that belongs to the system. I am not collateral damage; I am a treasured daughter.
Your Father is not neutral about what happened to you—He's FURIOUS at systems that devour His sheep to save their image. He's preparing vindication, exposure, and justice, and He's already healing the wounds they said you should just 'get over.' You are not forgotten.
