"The career path I didn't take was God's will, and now I'm outside His best."
How it sounds in your head: I should have finished that degree. I should have taken that job offer. I chose security over calling. Other women are doing what I was meant to do. I said no when God was opening a door, and now it's closed forever.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
-- Philippians 1:6Religious teaching about 'missing God's will' that makes His plans fragile and His guidance one-chance-only.
You see women thriving in the field you almost entered. You wonder 'what if' about the scholarship you turned down or the opportunity you were too afraid to take. The door feels permanently closed.
Moses tried to fulfill his calling through murder at 40 and fled to the wilderness for 40 years, tending sheep—seemingly disqualified. Yet at 80, God called him to the SAME purpose and used him mightily. The 'wasted' 40 years became preparation, not disqualification.
I REFUSE the lie that I missed my calling. IT IS WRITTEN that He who began a good work in me WILL complete it. God's purposes are not derailed by my fears or my choices. IT IS WRITTEN that His calling is irrevocable. The door I think I missed is opening NOW because He makes roads in the wilderness. My career path is not defined by what I didn't do—it's defined by what He IS doing. The blessing of Abraham includes His supernatural favor opening doors no man can shut. I step into my calling TODAY with confidence that His purposes prevail.
The Father doesn't hold the 'perfect career' over your head, waiting for you to guess correctly. He's placing opportunities in your path NOW that are better than what you think you missed. He wastes nothing—even the detours are part of His design.
