"The Bible says Rachel died in childbirth, so pregnancy is dangerous and Mom might die too"
How it sounds in your head: I read about Rachel dying when Benjamin was born and got scared. What if that happens to Mom? What if having another baby kills her? Maybe it's safer to just stop trying. I don't want a sibling if it means losing Mom.
"He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!"
-- Psalm 113:9Source: Using Old Covenant tragedy as New Covenant expectation, ignoring Jesus' finished work and the BETTER covenant we're under through His blood
The fear is ancient and primal - childbirth WAS the leading cause of death for women for millennia. Bible stories of death in childbirth feel like warnings instead of what Jesus came to FIX.
Elizabeth conceived in old age when it was far more dangerous medically, yet she delivered John the Baptist safely with GREAT JOY. No complications, no death, just miraculous life - proving New Covenant pregnancy is under blessing, not curse.
I REFUSE the lie that pregnancy is dangerous or that my mom could die like Rachel. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed us from the curse - that includes pain and danger in childbirth. My mom is under the BETTER covenant through Jesus' blood. IT IS WRITTEN that He grants the barren woman a home as a JOYFUL mother - not fearful, not dying, JOYFUL. The BARAK blessing means blessed coming in and going out. I decree safe conception, safe pregnancy, safe delivery over my mom. NO weapon formed against her shall prosper. She is blessed in the city and the field, in her body and her womb. Every pregnancy is covered by Jesus' blood.
The Father isn't rolling dice with your mom's life - He's the one who split the Red Sea and walked Jesus through storms. He's already assigned angels to guard her in all her ways, already prepared safe delivery, already decided the testimony of LIFE will come from your family.
