"The best I can do is survive and endure until Jesus returns"
How it sounds in your head: At my age, in these times, I just need to hold on. Keep my head down, stay faithful, endure. Not much else I can do. Thriving feels impossible—survival is the win. Just white-knuckle it till the trumpet sounds. Maybe that's enough.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Enemy replacing thriver identity with survivor mentality to neuter the most mature, resource-rich generation from Kingdom dominance
Energy's lower, body's weaker, world's darker. 'Just making it' feels realistic, not faithless. Thriving sounds like motivational hype for young people. At 65 in this chaos, survival IS victory, right?
At 40 and 50+ years old, while everyone else cowered in fear, Joshua and Caleb said, 'We are WELL ABLE to overcome—the land is EXCEEDINGLY GOOD, and if the Lord delights in us, He will bring us in.' They THRIVED while others survived.
I REFUSE the lie that survival is my ceiling. IT IS WRITTEN that I prosper in ALL THINGS and walk in HEALTH as my soul prospers. I am not in endurance mode; I am in ABUNDANCE mode. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give me life MORE ABUNDANTLY. I am a THRIVER, not a survivor. My latter years are GREATER than my beginning—Job 42:12 is my story. I possess mountains like Caleb at 85. I don't white-knuckle till Jesus returns; I DOMINATE till He returns. I'm not limping to the finish; I'm SPRINTING with fresh oil.
The Father is flooding your latter years with MORE than your prime—deeper joy, greater fruitfulness, richer intimacy. He's not putting you out to pasture; He's putting you on the PODIUM as an overcomer who finishes STRONG.
