"Spiritual warfare is for mature Christians, not beginners like me."
How it sounds in your head: You just started taking your faith seriously. You don't even pray for ten minutes straight yet. Spiritual warfare is advanced-level stuff—you're still learning the basics. Leave that to the prayer warriors who've been doing this for decades.
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
-- Ephesians 6:10-11Source: Religion created a hierarchy where new believers are second-class citizens waiting to earn battlefield access.
You hear stories of seasoned intercessors battling principalities and feel like you're in spiritual kindergarten. It seems reckless to engage in warfare when you barely understand the armor of God.
God called Gideon a 'mighty man of valor' while he was hiding in a winepress, terrified. Gideon argued he was the weakest in his family. God said 'Go in THIS MIGHT' and Gideon defeated an army of 135,000 with 300 men that same season. God called him mighty before he believed it.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too new for spiritual warfare. IT IS WRITTEN that I should put on the WHOLE armor of God and stand against the devil—not someday, NOW. I am not a second-class believer waiting to qualify. I am IN Christ, and every resource of heaven is available to me from day one. The same Spirit who raised Jesus lives in me, and He didn't move in with a waiting period. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 John 4:4 that greater is He in me than he in the world. I am Abraham's seed, an heir of the promise, and the BARAK blessing doesn't have a maturity clause.
The Father isn't saying, 'Wait until you're ready.' He handed you armor the moment you believed and said, 'You're a warrior now. I know you don't feel like it yet, but that's what you are.' He's not waiting for you to grow up—He's waiting for you to realize who you already are.
