"She's prettier, smarter, more popular - I'll never measure up to her"
How it sounds in your head: There's that one girl who has everything you want. Perfect hair, straight A's, everyone loves her, guys notice her. You watch her and feel like a shadow. Like God gave her the good stuff and you got leftovers. You'll never be her, so why even try.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
-- Jeremiah 1:5Enemy assigning your worth based on someone else's assignment instead of your unique calling.
You can see her gifts clearly but can't see your own because you're standing too close to yourself. Comparison makes you blind to your own design.
Gideon was hiding in a winepress, terrified, the least in his family, from the weakest clan. Angel shows up and calls him 'mighty warrior' BEFORE he did anything. God saw the warrior while Gideon saw the coward - God's assessment won.
I REFUSE the lie that her assignment diminishes mine. IT IS WRITTEN that before I was born, God knew me, set me apart, and ordained me for specific purpose. Her calling doesn't cancel mine - we're not competing, we're completing. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 12:18 that God set the members in the body just as He pleased - I am EXACTLY where I'm supposed to be. The BARAK blessing makes me the head and not the tail, above and not beneath - not because I beat her, but because I'm COVENANT. I am not the shadow. I am not the backup plan. I am the KNOWN, CHOSEN, ORDAINED daughter with an assignment only I can fulfill.
The Father isn't comparing you to her - He's celebrating the unique masterpiece He made when He made YOU. He's not wishing you were more like her; He's delighting that you're exactly like you, because that's what He designed on purpose.
