"She's naturally thin while I fight for every pound I lose."
How it sounds in your head: I see her eat whatever she wants and stay tiny while I gain weight looking at carbs. She doesn't have to think about food while I'm obsessed with every calorie. My body is broken compared to hers.
"For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Enemy using another woman's metabolism to convince you that your body is cursed and beauty requires constant battle.
She posts donuts and stays a size 2 while you meal prep and plateau. Her body seems to cooperate effortlessly while yours feels like an enemy you're constantly fighting.
Esther found favor with everyone who saw her without requesting special beauty treatments beyond what was appointed - she didn't strive or compare herself to the other virgins competing for the king. She was chosen as queen not through beauty warfare but through grace, and saved her entire nation.
I REFUSE the lie that my body is wrong because it's different from hers. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Samuel 16:7 that God looks at the heart, not the size tag. I am fearfully and wonderfully made at THIS weight. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 - 'There is therefore now NO condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.' No condemnation includes no condemnation for my body. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and my Father runs toward me with the robe of beauty while I'm still fighting the scale.
The Father who chose Esther without beauty warfare and loved Leah the unloved isn't measuring your worth by your metabolism. He's celebrating your body while you're comparing it to hers.
